Creating a Corpus-Based Teaching Material
Hello everyone I hope you’re fine and ready to learn something new! As for me, my exams ended a week ago, but I still feel exhausted. However, since it has been a semester nearly full of assignments, I know I must keep going💪. Today, I want to share my experiences as an assignment about how my friends created a teaching material and lesson plan using the ASSURE model and a linguistic tool, COCA (Corpus of Contemporary American English) to help students learn the difference between say and tell. The lesson encourages exploration and critical thinking, making it more engaging for the students. We started by choosing our vocabulary items: say-tell from the MEB coursebook. Then, as a corpus, we chose COCA.
